Amp up your daily protein intake and curb your sweet tooth with this high-protein peanut butter fudge. It’s an easy freezer treat to keep on hand when cravings hit (just like this protein bark) and one I love recommending because it feels indulgent while still helping you hit your protein goals.

Lightly salted with that classic silky fudge texture (but without all the work), it’s the kind of snack that makes sweet cravings feel a little more balanced. On those days when you just need something sweet, embrace it, and if you love simple high-protein treats like this, you’ll find plenty more ideas in the Strong and Sweet Protein Guide.

💭 Why You'll Love This Protein Fudge

Quick to make: All you need to do is measure, melt, and pour for this protein peanut butter fudge to come together.

High in protein: With 17 grams of protein per serving, it's a great way to get more protein into your diet (learn about the benefits of a high protein diet).

Protein dessert: It's the perfect way to enjoy something sweet but not wreck your protein intake or go into a sugar-overload.

Texture: Light, silky, and ultra-rich, this fudge recipe is the perfect dessert.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

Multiple ingredients for protein fudge in measuring cups with text labels over top.

One of the perks of this peanut butter protein fudge is that you only need five ingredients, almost like this coffee fudge recipe, which requires just six and tastes like a latte.

    • Coconut oil: I like to use cold-pressed, extra virgin coconut oil, but it does have a bit more of a coconut taste to it for some people. Opt for unrefined at the very least.
    • Natural peanut butter: You need the natural version for this protein fudge recipe, or my no-oil peanut butter, so that it creates a smooth texture (same goes for these chocolate chip protein cookies). Also, try to use fresh peanut butter so that it mixes better.
    • Collagen powder: One of the cleanest sources of protein out there. Collagen powder is what gives this dairy-free fudge its protein boost.
    • Coconut cream: You want the thick, white cream that comes from the can. Make sure to drain the water and use only the cream.

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

    Flavor Variations

Chocolate: Add one teaspoon of cacao powder to the fudge mixture or switch it up and make chocolate protein powder fudge.

Toppings: Salt, sprinkles, mini chocolate tops, you can top the protien fudge with anything.

How To Make Peanut Butter Protein Fudge

Small pot with coconut oil and peanut butter in ti and a honey stick beside it.

Step 1: Combine the coconut oil, peanut butter, and honey in a small pot.

Step 2: Heat on low heat until the coconut oil is melted.

    Expert Tips

Enjoy the easy peanut butter fudge by letting it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes so that it’s soft.

Make sure to heat the ingredients on low and be patient. Otherwise, the peanut butter may burn and make the mixture chunky.

Whisk in the collagen with a fork really quickly while everything is warm. This way, it doesn’t have a chance to clump.

Though regular peanut butter is great, crunchy peanut butter is amazing (but know that any nut butter will technically work!). Love peanut butter? Check out these gluten-free peanut butter recipes!

How long you chill the high-protein fudge will depend a bit on the mold. Though 60 minutes is the minimum, you may need to chill it for longer if it still feels soft. This can happen with really deep molds.

Having a high-quality collagen powder is important so that the protein fudge tastes good (and not gritty). I use Perfect Supplements for this as they're super transparent about their products. If you try it, code mamabear10 saves you money. Learn more about what collagen powder is.

    How To Store It

Store the protein fudge in the freezer for up to 6 weeks (if it lasts that long!).

Let it sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before enjoying it.

If you store it in the fridge to thaw overnight, it's delicious but just a bit too soft.

    Peanut Butter Protein Fudge FAQs

How long does protein fudge last in the freezer?

Freezer fudge can last 2-3 months in the freezer, so long as it is in an air-tight container in which it can’t get “freezer burn” on it.

Can I use chocolate protein powder in place of collagen powder?

Protein powder and collagen powder do not mix or absorb liquid in the same way. Though whey protein powder may be able to be used, vegan can most definitely not be swapped in. Vegan protein powder tends to absorb a lot of liquid and would leave this protein fudge with a thick but chalky texture.

    Can I add chocolate chips?

You can add chocolate chips to the peanut butter fudge for a fun twist! However, make sure to add the chocolate chips after pouring it into the mold when it has cooled ever so slightly. Otherwise, they will just melt.

Can you make protein fudge without peanut butter?

Yes, you can make protein fudge without peanut butter. If you want, you can use a different nut or seed butter, or replace the peanut butter with coconut cream, which will yield a similar texture.
