    Dairy-Free Yogurt Parfait

    Rich and creamy, this dairy-free yogurt parfait is mixed with juicy berries and crunchy homemade granola for the ultimate breakfast or snack! Made with protein-packed Greek yogurt, this parfait recipe is a red, white, and blue way to gain some lasting energy.

    If you need grab-and-go snacks or meal prep breakfast recipes, you’ll want to have this dairy-free yogurt parfait on hand. It’s creamy and sweet but packed with healthy ingredients to actually keep you full.

    Made with a vegan Greek yogurt (an amazing dairy-free swap!) and homemade granola, this parfait can be sweetened as much or as little to your liking.

    As a Certified Nutrition Coach, making high-protein snacks or breakfast recipes EASY is my ultimate goal, as otherwise, as busy moms, we’ll just eat off our kids' plates. So, recipes like this that can be made in 5 minutes or less are a game-changer.     Why You'll Love The Recipe

    Easy: Only 5 main ingredients and meal prepped in under five minutes.

    Healthy: The original recipe is dairy-free and gluten-free. but it can easily be made vegan or paleo-approved as well.

    Versatile: There are a lot of ways to tweak this yogurt parfait to make it exactly what you need.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

    I use a dairy-free Greek yogurt for the base of the recipe. Know that a regular Greek yogurt will work as well. If you’re using a vanilla-flavored yogurt, you can skip the honey and vanilla extract. If not, adjust those to your taste preferences.

    We do a lot of homemade granola in the house, so typically I use that. My favorite is the almond crunch granola or protein granola. However, store-bought is okay too!

    Both fresh and frozen berries will work in the recipe.

    Make it paleo: You’ll need to use a traditional Greek yogurt as vegan yogurts are not always paleo. Likewise, use a homemade grain-free granola recipe or a store-bought one.

    Make it vegan: You’ll need to omit the honey in the strawberry yogurt parfait. To do this, either use a pre-made vanilla vegan yogurt or replace the honey with another sweetener like maple syrup.

    Expert Tips To Make It

    I like it when my yogurt parfaits are layered and pretty. If you don’t have time for this, just add the yogurt, then berries, then granola, and call it a day.

    Frozen berries will thaw and thin the yogurt mixture a bit. You can use them (and I do), just know that. Give it all a big stir before you enjoy it.

    How To Add More Protein

    The dairy-free yogurt parfait only has 15 grams of protein as written (dependent on the type of yogurt and granola though). This is fine when I make it for kids, but I prefer more. To do this, I add 3 tablespoons of collagen powder to the yogurt mixture when I mix it up to bring the amount up to 24 grams per serving.

    Collagen powder is different than protein powder and is one of the cleanest sources of protein you can use to increase your intake. Here are other collagen recipes you can use it with, too.

    How To Make A Dairy-Free Yogurt Parfait

    Step 1: Mix together the dairy-free yogurt, vanilla, and honey until smooth.

    Step 2: In a small jar, add some blueberries and top them with yogurt to fill about half the jar.

    Step 3: On top of the yogurt add some more berries and most of the granola.

    Step 4: Finish portioning the yogurt and topping the parfaits with more berries and granola.

    How To Store It

    Make the dairy-free yogurt parfaits in small mason jars and just tighten the lid on top. Like this, they will stay fresh for about 3 days in the fridge.

    Know that the granola will soften a bit, especially if you have it layered. If you don’t like the texture, wait to add granola to the top of your yogurt parfait just before enjoying it.

    Flavor Variations

    When it comes to a yogurt parfait, there are so many ways to adjust the flavor that the options are endless. Here are a few of our favorites.

    Fruits: Mix and match your berries based on what you have. I love the red, white, and blue look of blueberries and strawberries but anything works. We do chopped mango and peaches a lot in the summer.

    Crunch: Add in more nuts like toasted pecans or pistachios for added crunch.

    Citrus: Zesting orange or lemon into the yogurt gives a pop of refreshing flavor.

    FAQ's

    Do you still get probiotics from dairy-free yogurt?

    Most plant-based yogurt has probiotics added to them so that you still get the traditional yogurt benefits. However, the amount may be different from a classic, milk-based product.

    Can you get dairy-free Greek yogurt?

    Yes! Many brands like Silk, Kite Hill, and Daiya are now making thick, Greek-style vegan yogurts.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1.25 cups Dairy-free Greek yogurt plain
    • 1 tablespoon Honey
    • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
    • ½ cup Strawberries sliced
    • ¼ cup Blueberries fresh or frozen
    • ¼ cup Homemade granola
    • 3 tablespoons Collagen powder optioal

    Instructions
     

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the yogurt honey, and vanilla extract until combined and smooth.
    • Splitting between two small mason jars, add some blueberries to the bottom of each jar and top them with the dairy-free yogurt mix. It should fill to just under the halfway point of the jar.
    • Top the yogurt with half the starberries and half the granola.
    • Add the rest of the yogurt to the jars and finish the parfait with the remaining berries and granola.
    • Either tighten on the lids and store them in the fridge. or enjoy immediately.

      I’ve never been one for breakfasts but I could definitely get on board with this. Is the parfait mix one you could freeze like a semi Fredo?

        Hrm, I can't say i've tried freezing but I do make frozen yogurt banana bites and they rock so I'd give it a shot. You may just need to give it extra time to partially thaw because the coconut milk will get hard!
