Though pregnancy is a time to take in nutrients that help your baby grow, it’s also a time when cravings are at an all-time high! Use these Healthy Pregnancy Desserts to literally have your cake and eat it too.

"These recipes are saving me! I've already enjoyed the peanut butter fudge and the protein brownie batter--OMG so delicious! Completely hit the spot for a sweet craving, but I feel like I'm still treating my body well. Can't wait to try more!" - Rachel
When it comes to pregnancy, cravings can be all over the place. But there’s one thing that’s never disputed: at some point in time, you are going to want allll the sweet things.
As a mom of three, I found that I was chocolate-obsessed with my first babe, ice cream-obsessed with my second, and would eat everything under the sun (after the trimester, of course, haha) with my third.
Thankfully, I was able to find a balance in each pregnancy that let me enjoy my cravings, not feel restricted, and still give my babe the healthy nutrients it needed.
So, if you are currently expecting, first off: congrats!!! Though I didn’t appreciate it at first, it is truly a special time.
And second, scroll through the list of healthy pregnancy desserts below and pick out some new recipes to try. Actually, give this pregnancy smoothie with dates a go too as it's delicious.
Not only will you feel AMAZING indulging a craving, but that voice inside your head telling you that you need nutrients will shut off too 😉

Common Pregnancy Dessert Concerns
More protein: Many pregnancy cravings are easier to manage when meals and snacks contain enough protein. Most of these desserts are actually protein-based, so this should help with that.
Heartburn: Chocolate (sorry!), citrus, and mint can trigger symptoms for some women. If heartburn is an issue, opt for milder choices like baked fruit desserts or oatmeal-based treats.
Gestational diabetes: Always follow your healthcare provider's recommendations, but many of the desserts listed include lower or natural sugar (honey and maple syrup) and higher protein.
Allergens: In case your hormones have shifted and you developed an allergy (that was me!), all of the recipes below are dairy-free and gluten-free.
