Mint Chocolate Green Smoothie
Mint (or peppermint!) & Chocolate go together in just about everything! Lip chaps, bath melts and of course smoothies! This Mint Chocolate Smoothie is both tasty and healthy. Perfect to give your digestive system a boost and quench a craving!
Green smoothies are a staple in my house as they’re a simple and easy way to get in veggies, easy to take with you and taste delicious! And of course, chocolate mint is one f my favorites!
With St. Patrick’s day coming up this week I wanted the perfect smoothie to both indulge in while boosting my nutrient intake- and this smoothie does just that!

This smoothie uses fresh mint leaves which are amazing at boosting your digestion, soothing inflammation and reducing headaches. Plus, it’s extremely refreshing making this shake ideal if you need a pick me up.
The other perk of this shake is that it’s perfectly suited for pregnant ladies! Specifically those in their first trimester.
Bananas are great for electrolytes, magnesium and potassium but they’re major benefit? They help reduce nausea! Paired with the mint leaves, which are also used for upset tummies this green smoothie should be on frequent rotation for expecting mamas.
And of course.. chocolate peppermint is delicious! This smoothie uses the fastest “chocolate sauce” you can make and gives them smoothie a bit of chocolate goodness.
And if you are rocking this smoothie for St. Patrick’s Day, it does taste good with a shot of vodka or kahlua.. just sayin 😉
2 Ingredient Chocolate Sauce
- 1 tsp raw cacao powder
- 2 tsp pure maple syrup
Whisk together quickly until combined. Makes roughly one tablespoon
Mint Chocolate Smoothie Ingredients
- 1 large banana frozen, (frozen is what makes the shake creamy and thick)
- 2 moderate handfuls of fresh baby spinach
- 1 tbs almond butter
- 1/4 small avocado
- 1/2 loosely packed fresh mint
- 1/8-1/4 tsp peppermint extract
- 1 tbs maple syrup
- 3-4 ice cubes
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
- 1/2 cup water
Optional Add Ins
- Vanilla protein powder (making this an awesome post workout shake!)
- Raw cacao chips or chocolate chips for topping!
- A shot of vodka or kahlua if you’re really celebrating 😉

How To Make Mint Chocolate Smoothie
Whisk up the chocolate sauce and set aside. Place all ingredients for the smoothie into a powerful blender ( I have a Vitamix) and blend until smooth and creamy
Pour into glasses and top with homemade chocolate sauce and then raw cacao chips or chocolate chips if desired!
