Why Opt For Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas?

    • They're thoughtful
    • They will save you money
    • They can help you save time
    • Easy to customize for each and every person

The Best Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas

    • Individual self care items (lip scrubs, bath bombs)
    • Small baskets
    • Large mixed baskets
    • Baking/kitchen baskets

One of the reasons I love homemade Christmas gifts is that they're so easy to customize for each person. Scents, choices, everything about them can be geared to the person you have in mind.

Below is a list of my most common, homemade Christmas gift ideas. I use a variety of them each and every year ether individually or as part of a basket (scroll down). They're simple, all natural homemade Christmas gifts that add a little something special back into a crazy Holiday season.

    Diy Lip Chaps

This is easily the best homemade Christmas gift because who doesn’t need lip chap?! I make a big batch of these and hand them out  to clients and just about everyone else. I also pair them with almost all my gifts.

They work well for neighbors and acquaintances that you just can’t spend a lot of money on. Plus.. they smell amazing!

    Chocolate Cinnamon
    Chocolate Peppermint
    Citrus Bliss

    Bath Salts

Easy to make (two ingredients!) bath salts pair perfectly with body scrub or lip chap to make a cute gift. Simply combine 1 cup of epsom salts and your favorite essential oils (I like peppermint!) to make an quickly thrown together present.

My girlfriend made me a "ninja soak" for my birthday (to ease sore muscles!) and it was one of my favorite presents- just so thoughtful!

    Diy Sugar Scrubs

Homemade body scrub is the most cost effective way to say a little thank you. You can chose to scent your scrub so many different ways, it’s easy to make it custom ? I like to pair mine with a lip chap.

These sugar scrubs get even better as they're individualized and a soap too! or, narrow it down and rock this pretty in pink lip scrub.

    Candy Cane Hot Chocolate

This is a super fun gift for kids and adults alike! Buy the hot chocolate in bulk (or be a crazy lady like myself and make your own hot chocolate and give directions!) and portion into jars taping a small candy cane to the jar. I personally like to give this gift with a baileys sampler for the adults

Another great one, but for adults only, is giving out packets of the Mushroom Cacao Mix from Four Sigmatic. It's a blend of reishi mushrooms, cacao and coconut palm sugar and I'm totally obsessed.

Mushrooms a have a ton of benefits and I love these little packets. Tape a candycane on with it and I'mt thinking it would be divine. They do have a straight mushroom hot cacao also but I haven't tried it yet. But since it comes in packets it would be super easy to add a couple to baskets.

    Baking Baskets

This baking basket is simply cute and I like to give it to anyone who likes to spend time in the kitchen! Again, put as many things or as few things into the basket as you wish! Some of my favorite things to add:

    • cookie mix
    • spatulas
    • new oven mits
    • a mini bottle of baileys
    • ground coffee from Four Sigmatic
    • Chocolate chips

    Candles

A few years ago I spent some time learning to make candles (I’m not great at it). Thus, I have a zillion candles that I’ve been giving away as small thank you’s around Christmas.. for the last three years!

If you don’t make your own though, they still make a cute thoughtful homemade Christmas gift! Here's how to make Beeswax candles and they smell amazing.

    Cookie In A Jar

I like to put this jar in with the bakers basket but it makes a great gift all on its own!

You can use any cookie mix you like just be sure to leave the receiver instructions on the package. I like to use either my trailmix cookies or crumbly chocolate chip ones.

    Homemade Body Butters

Homemade body butters are an awesome gift and again can be scented to preference. I personally love giving my workout friends this diy muscle rub but a favorite around the house is this peppermint foot lotion.

    Calming Baby Body Butter
    Whipped Honey body Butter
    Vanilla Body Butter
    Orange Grapefruit Body butter

Homemade body lotion in a white ramekin with vanilla bean on top and a blue napkin behind

    Bath Bombs

No homemade gift list would be complete without bath bombs! So freaking simple and so many options. Learn more about how and why to make bath bombs and then jump into your favorites!

    Mini relaxing bath bombs
    Headache remedy bombs
    Stress relief bath bombs

    Sleepy Time Bath Bombs

And get a bath bomb mold. These molds make the bombs look like store bought and they're way more simple to use!

    Diy Spa Baskets

Homemade spa baskets are easily my favorite to make because there's no limit as to what you can throw in them!

This basket is perfect for all females but especially an expecting mama who naturally need some self care before the babe comes! Everyone needs a little pampering and this basket does just that. Put in as many or as few combinations as you’d like.

For acquaintances I make little self care gifts of my favorite lips chaps or body butters but for bigger gifts I love making a few items and turning them into a full blown basket full of awesome.

Ideas For A Self Care Basket

    • Diy self care items
    • Socks
    • Candles
    • Mini snacks (protein bars, coconut chips etc)
    • Adult coloring book (which I grab from my favorite company)

Take The Stress Out Of Christmas

I our house, we have a  big Christmas countdown.in the kitchen. I tolerate this board because it's cute, funny and my daughter loves it.

But, there's a part of me every morning that glares at the board because it's a beeping light reminder of ALL THE THINGS right beside my coffee machine (maybe I should move it so I've had coffee before I see it...).

But I suppose it's all part of the season. A season I love (minus the cold!) and a season made even better by all the giving.

And personally, one of the reasons I love coming up with homemade gift ideas for Christmas is that diy gifts keep the season simple. They bring back the magic and the thought behind it. And those little things make me much more stress-free and able to enjoy the season.
