Tips To Making Bath Bombs
I haven't always had the easiest time making DIY bath bombs and from that, Thus, I've learned a lot.
Read more about How & Why To Make Your Own Bath Bombs but a few general tips:
- I use mica powder to color the bath bombs. It works wonderfully but it does leave a ring around the tub. Thus, when making them for myself, I tend to just leave them colorless (because I hate adding a chore post-bath)
- There is oil in the DIY bath bombs which means the tub can get a bit slippery getting out- be careful!
- Make sure to really press down on the bath bombs to help them hold together
Essential Oils For Natural Stress Relief
These are the essential oils I think of when I want a bit of stress relief. However, there are lots of essential oils for stress and anxiety. Thus, use the blend I've created or mix one up of your own.
Lavender: The queen of stress relief, lavender is shown to be calming, release tension, and ease anxiety. likewise, Ii's also one of my favorite essential oils to use before bed in my sleepy time bath bombs.
Grapefruit: One of the citrus fruits. The smell of citrus has been shown to make people feel more positive and help uplift your mood
Orange: Like grapefruit, orange essential oil helps perk of your mood and leaves you feeling 'lighter". It's not so much calming as it is mood-enhancing
Chamomille: Long touted as a calming agent for both skin, digestion, and mood! Chamomille combined with lavender helps ease worries and calm your system. Further, I actually use this in my homemade diaper wipe spray too!
Clary Sage: When directly applied this oil has been shown to release menstrual cramps and promote healing. Similarly, the scent of it helps reduce anxiety as well as improve sleep- such a killer oil for stress relief!
Thanks to these essential oils these DIY bath bombs for stress relief make the perfect addition to a relaxing bath. Moreover, they promote happiness, clarity, and calming feelings which will help ease away tension and make them great options for natural stress relief.

How To Make Them
In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients and mix well. Make sure there are no clumps.
Then. in a small glass bowl, combine the almond oil, essential oils, and witch hazel. Whisk.
Pour the liquid mixture into the large bowl, it will fizz once the liquid touches it.
Begin mixing using a fork (or your hands) until everything looks combined and somewhat moist.
Prep your silicone molds and use a spoon to fill the molds halfway. Using a silicone spatula, press the mixture into the molds firmly. Spray each mold with a small bit of water (one spray) and press down again to make sure they're firm.
Likewise, using too much water will cause the bombs to lose their fizz. However, if you don't press down firmly, the bombs will not hold together.
Divide the rest of the mixture into the molds and again press down firmly. Spray the top with water and press down again.
If using the ball-shaped molds, carefully seal them together and press firmly. Let sit on the counter for twenty-four hours to set before removing from molds.
Makes 4 large ball style bombs.
Note: You can use any mold or shape you like to make bath bombs! Switching it up with a variety of shapes and sizes makes for a fun and unique gifts!
Second Note: Mica powder, while gorgeous, does leave a colored ring around your tub. When I make these for myself I don't add any coloring.. but for gifts, they're much more pretty!
Tip: use anywhere from ⅛-1/2 teaspoon of mica powder keeping in mind that the more you use the more saturated the water will be with color. Again, mica powder does leave a ring in the tub.
