Tender bites of beef simmered all day in a honey garlic sauce these slow cooker steak bites are an effortless recipe. Made with only four ingredients you can use these steak bites for easy meal prep, a tasty appetizer, or just a high-protein snack.

One of my biggest hacks as a Certified Nutrition Coach is to have clients make recipes like these slow cooker steak bites or spicy chicken bites during the week to help them increase their protein intake.
Not only do the bites work as part of a larger dinner by working them into stir fry’s, noodle bowls, or wraps (or a few of the recipes in the Busy moms Cookbook) but they also work for easy snacks too. Having meat like this prepared in the fridge is a game-changer when you’re trying to get something ready quickly.
Why You'll Love This Recipe
Effortless: You only need four ingredients and almost no kitchen time for this recipe as it’s cooked all in the slow cooker.
Healthy: The steak bites are dairy-free, gluten-free, paleo, and keto-friendly making them a great way to boost your protein.
Versatile: With so many ways to season the steak bites and use them, they’re the perfect way to get into meal prep.
Ingredients and Substitutions
Below is a quick shot of the ingredients but again, there are just four. You most likely have everything you need already.
Steak: Any beef will work here but we actually use stewing beef the most as the bites come out ultra tender.
You can add more garlic if you want to or use garlic powder. If you need the recipe to be paleo-friendly, opt for coconut aminos in place of soy sauce.

Expert Tips To Make It
Confirm your soy sauce is gluten-free if you need to. It’s one of the hidden sources of gluten. Tamari or coconut aminos work in place of the regular stuff.
If you can stir the steak bites throughout their cooking, do it. It will result in juicer bites. However, you don’t need to.
How To Make Slow Cooker Steak Bites
Step 1: Whisk together the soy sauce, garlic, and honey in a slow cooker.
Step 2: Add the steak bites in and toss to coat them.

Step 3: Cook on low for 5-6 hours.
Step 4: Enjoy as-is or as part of a larger meal.

How To Store Them
Store leftover steak bites once cool in an airtight container in the fridge. They’ll stay fresh for 3-4 days. You can enjoy them chilled, or you can reheat them on the stove or microwave until warmed through.
You can freeze cooked steak bites too. To do this, let them cool fully and place the steak as well as any additional sauces left in the slow cooker in a plastic bag or freezer-safe container. Store them for up to 2 months. To enjoy them, let them thaw in the fridge overnight.
Flavor Variations
If you wish to change the flavor of the slow cooker steak bites, it’s pretty simple. Our favorite variations are to add in a bit of heat. I like adding some red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the honey garlic sauce.
FAQs
Sure! Any kind of steak will work for the bites it’s just that some have a more tender texture than others. We primarily use stewing beef or top sirloin.
