Coconut Matcha Latte Recipe – DF/GF/Paleo
An easy, midday pick me up this matcha latte recipe is made with a burst of energy! Curling up with a cup of matcha latte is enough to give you a pick me up but this matcha latte is creamy and decadent to give you some extra comfort!
Truth be told, I avoided matcha lattes for a long time. I loved them in coffee shops but only because they were so sugar-loaded it was crazy.
I loved matcha in smoothies or energy bars but definitely not to drink. Mainly, I appreciated the benefits of matcha green tea but it wasn’t my thing.
But finally, I came up with a matcha latte recipe I not only love but one that gives just a teeny bit more energy than normal.

Benefits Of Matcha Green Tea
By now I’m sure you’ve heard about the health craze that is Matcha Green tea and all of the benefits of matcha tea.
It’s been around for years but it’s gained a lot of popularity in the last ten or so. Matcha has been said to help or be:
- Increase energy
- Boost metabolism
- Reduce heart disease risk
- Loaded with vitamins
- Boost the immune system
- Contains fiber

What Does Matcha Taste Like
This is what stopped me initially when it comes to a matcha latte recipe. By itself, I find matcha green tea to be slightly bitter. I adore tea (tea has so many health benefits on its own) but found that unless it was loaded with a sugar shot I didn’t enjoy it.
This matcha latte recipe is the perfect combination of health-boosting ingredients and flavor. It’s simple (only four ingredients + water) and truly is a comfort for me when I hit the midday slump.
Energy Boosting Recipe
While all matcha tea has been said to give an energy boost, this particular matcha latte recipe takes it one step further.

When To Use This Matcha Latte
Well, that’s the best part… it’s up to you!
Personally, I use this homemade matcha latte more during the afternoon when I need to get my sh*t together and get some work done.
I find the combo of coconut milk + honey comforting and so I can curl up with a cup, settle in and work.
However, I know most mamas need a pick my up mid-morning (probably because we’ve been up since before dawn) which is also a great time to get a burst of energy.
- 1/8 cup coconut cream (+ more for froth if possible)
- 1 tsp Four Sigmatics matcha powder
- 1 tbs raw honey
- ¾ cup boiling water
- cinnamon optional
