Who says delicious snacks have to be sugar-loaded and unhealthy? I love that these frozen yogurt banana pops are naturally sweet, made with simple ingredients, and always a hit with kids (just like these strawberry lemonade protein popsicles).
While they only take about 5 minutes to prep, the banana bites do need time to fully freeze. For best results, whip up a big batch the night before a hot day and let them firm up so they’re ready to grab and enjoy in the summer sun (hint: these chocolate frozen bananas are a hit too :P).

💭Why You'll Love This Recipe
Kid-approved: Adults and kids alike love snacking on these healthy banana bites because they're so cool and refreshing.
Versatile: The frozen bananas can be decorated and adjusted for so many flavors that it's easy to make them seem like "new" again.
Balanced snack: With the protein from the yogurt and natural sugar from bananas, this recipe is a favorite because it's such a balanced treat!
Ingredients and Substitutions

- Yogurt: The kind you choose will alter the taste of the bananas, just like with this protein frozen yogurt. I like to use a dairy-free Greek yogurt for added protein (normal Greek works too). That's the base of these Greek yogurt protein bars.
- Bananas: You want them ripe so that they're sweet but not too ripe or they'll be really tricky to coat in yogurt.
- Stevia: I use this as I use unflavored yogurt, but know that any sweetener will work (honey and maple syrup are great, like in this protein frozen yogurt!), and if you have a flavored yogurt, you don't need this at all.
- Make it vegan: To make these yogurt-dipped bananas vegan-friendly, just use a vegan-based yogurt.
See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.
Variations
Flavored yogurt: Change the taste of these Greek yogurt banana bites with different flavored yogurts.
Extra protein: Want to bump up the protein? Whisk Collagen Powder into your yogurt. I do this especially as I use a dairy-free yogurt. It's the cleanest protein you'll find and a great way to eat more protein.
Toppings: Drizzle on dairy-free chocolate glaze, coconut milk caramel sauce, or top the banana bites with crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut. This is actually really fun to do with kids to get them in the kitchen.
How To Make Frozen Yogurt Banana Bites

Step 1: Slice the bananas evenly, roughly ½ inch thick.

Step 2: Mix together the yogurt, stevia, and vanilla, then coat the bananas.

Step 3: Lay the bananas on parchment paper and sprinkle toppings over them. Freeze.
Expert Tips
If you're using a flavored yogurt, eliminate the stevia and the vanilla extract.
Use bananas that are ripe but not too soft, or they'll be too tricky to coat and will mush together.
Bananas freeze pretty solid, let the bites sit on the counter for 5 minutes before serving.
A lot of people make these yogurt-covered bananas into banana pops! Which are most definitely delicious. If you're worried about messy hands with these bites, simply put a box of toothpicks out beside the bites to grab them.
Store leftover banana bites in an airtight container in the freezer (ideally in a single layer) for up to 1 month.
Frozen Yogurt Banana Bites FAQs
So long as the bananas are peeled, you can make frozen banana bites with pre-frozen bananas. Bananas are normally soft enough to cut into frozen so all you'd need to do is dip them and get them back into the freezer.
Because the bananas are well, frozen, they do tend to melt. However, we find them a little too frozen right out of the freezer. Thus, to eat them, grab a bowl and let them sit for 3-5 minutes outside to thaw ever so slightly. Then, let the kids at them. The banana bites will stay frozen/in tasty shape for about 10 minutes on a hot day so grab them fast!
If the bananas have melted slightly, don't freak out! You can actually make a banana frozen yogurt recipe! Place the bananas in the freezer, melted, and let them re-freeze. Then, pop them into a high-powered blender and make banana frozen yogurt (no ice cream maker needed!)!

- If using a flavored yogurt, omit the vanilla and the stevia; it's not needed.
- The bananas freeze very solidly, let that 3-5 minutes before popping them in your mouth
- Eat them quickly! The frozen bananas will begin to melt after ten minutes or so in the sun
