2 Ingredient Homemade Body Scrub
DIY body scrub is a great, inexpensive and thoughtful gift. In fact, it takes under ten minutes to whip up a big batch and portion them out. Just like this citrus bliss lip chap, body scrubs make a great homemade gift!
While the homemade body scrubs I used to use as a teen used a salt base, I always found that a bit harsh on my skin. The purpose of an exfoliating isn’t to rub your skin raw but to remove build up and lose dander to make way for fresh, soft new skin.
This body scrub uses a brown sugar base which I find exfoliates perfectly. Not too rough but not too soft. The other half of the scrub is coconut oil which is extremely hydrating. Between these two ingredients your skin will feel silky and the mixture itself smells like cookies!
There are lots of fancier scrubs out there but this one is simple, effective and cheap! Which is why it’s my go-to 🙂
And, the beauty of any DIY scrub is that you can flavor it with whatever scent you enjoy. Below are my favorite body scrub mixtures!
Ingredients For The Scrub
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup almond oil
Mix together until all the sugar is coated. Portion into jars and tighten the lid. Will last roughly two months so long as water doesn’t get into the jar (use a spoon to dispense!)
* make sure to stir before using as the oil can separate.
* I like to use coconut oil in place of almond sometimes but if the room is cold it will harden
Add in 10 drops of orange essential oil and 8 drops of lime essential oil
*alternatively, you can also just juice and orange and lime and add the juice!
Add 1 tbs pure vanilla extract
Christmas In A Jar
8 drop peppermint essential oil & 6-8 drops spearmint oil
Don’t forget to pin this simple, thoughtful diy gift!
