Savor the rich blend of smooth, bold coffee and frothy milk sweetened with a hint of maple. This maple cinnamon latte makes cool fall days the perfect blend of comfort and with a natural energy boost.

Enjoy the dairy-free latte as a single serving, over ice in the summer, or whip it up in a slow cooker for large gatherings. This is a latte recipe you’ll want to keep on hand.

Frothed milk being poured into a maple latte in a glass on a wooden coaster.

Made with real Canadian maple syrup this homemade maple latte is whipped up in just 5 minutes.

This maple cinnamon latte is strong and rich but also flavored with vanilla for a warm comforting feel.

Froth up an almond coconut blend and in just minutes you’ll have a latte that’s better than an over-priced coffee shop.

Plus, as a Certified Nutrition Coach, I love that there’s only a handful of ingredients!

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Save time and skip the line at the coffee shop.
    • It used minimal ingredients that you already have on hand.
    • No espresso machine needed
    • Serve it warm or over-chilled for an iced maple latte.
    • For large gatherings, make a big batch in the slow cooker for people to serve themselves.
    • Cozy fall flavor for the perfect pick-me-up.

    Quick Coffee Tip

Brewed Coffee: use your favorite coffee blend and make it as strong as you like it.

Though an espresso machine will give a more potent coffee flavor, you don't need one (though these Nespresso recipes sure make that purchase worth it!).

Keep in mind that the milk will dilute it a bit so (for me anyways) stronger is better.

However, the ratios are up to you (more below). If using coconut milk, opt for the full-fat version for a creamier texture.

How To Make A Maple Latte

The instructions below walk you through how to make a hot maple latte. Read on further to learn about the variations.

Glass with maple syrup in it on a wooden coaster with cinnamon, a small whisk, and a French press around it.
Frothed milk being poured into a maple latte in a glass on a wooden coaster.

Step 1: Combine the extracts and maple syrup in your favorite glass.

Step 2: Pour in your favorite coffee blend.

Frothed milk being poured into a maple latte in a glass on a wooden coaster.

Step 3: Add in the coconut milk into a milk frother and let it froth for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4: Using a spoon to hold the frothy milk back, pour the warmed milk into the latte and then the froth on top.

    Variations And Substitutions

Protein maple latte: blend in half a tablespoon of collagen powder with the handheld frother before adding in the milk.

Iced maple latte: whip together the maple latte but don’t add the milk. Let it chill in the fridge as long as possible.

Add ice to a mason jar, pour in the latte mixture, and add in almond milk until the desired flavor is achieved.

Spiced maple latte: add a hint of cinnamon to the coffee mixture as well as sprinkle on top after frothing. A little bit goes a long way.

Of course, if you need major energy hit, this matcha banana smoothie is a great choice too.

    Expert Teaching Tips

Both coconut milk and almond milk will work for the maple latte recipe though coconut milk will be creamier. I make my maple latte with coconut and homemade hemp milk for the creamiest texture.

You can make it easy and use a handheld frother and whisk them right into the mug but it won’t be as frothy.

Likewise, you can heat the milk in a small pot on the stove until frothy also.

But truthfully, a milk frother works best.

Brew your coffee slightly stronger than normal so that the maple latte retains its amazing, espresso-like flavor.

Store the leftover maple latte in the fridge in a mason jar. You can either drink it chilled by pouring it over ice or reheat it on the stove over low. Not too high of heat or the milk will burn.

"Made a decaf version of this for an afternoon treat and it was so delicious! Probably the best fall recipe I've made so far this year. Just sweet enough and love the little bit of coconut milk to make it creamy and luscious." Barb

How To Make The Latter In A Slow Cooker

This maple cinnamon latter recipe is also amazing for large gatherings!

Make it in the slow cooker by:

    1. Quadrupling the ingredient amounts.
    2. Add the brewed coffee, extracts, and maple syrup to a slow cooker.
    3. Cook on low for 1-2 hours.
    4. Froth the milk and add it to the slow cooker.
    5. Turn the slow cooker to warm and let people serve themselves.

Know that you can also skip adding in the dairy-free milk and have a milk frother set up beside the slow cooker.

This way your guests can add as much or as little frother milk to their maple latte as they wish!

    How To Serve It

At its very base, this maple latte is delicious as-is and how I drink it most often.

However, if you wish to use it as a dessert or specialty coffee you can serve it:

    1. Topped with whole30 whipped cream
    2. With a shot of dairy-free baileys or other liqueur
    3. Topped with whipped cream and drizzled with dairy-free caramel sauce

    Frequently Asked Questions

What milk is best for making a latte?

Any milk will work for a latte but your choice will change the flavor slightly. Whole milk or full-fat coconut milk are the best choices because they add a rich feel to the maple latte. Outside of that, almond milk, skim milk, and any other variations will work but won’t be as rich or as frothy.

Can you use regular coffee for a latte?

Though lattes typically use espresso for their base, you can easily use regular brewed coffee. If you love the coffee flavor and know you’re making a latte, just brew an extra strong batch of coffee. Likewise, you could even make a basic cold brew coffee (which tends to be stronger) and then heat it on the stove before making it into a latte.

I've never been a pumpkin spice person, but maple I can get down with. Been on an oatmilk kick lately, so I used that instead of almond milk, but if anything, it made this latte taste even more like a delicious liquid cookie. Also can confirm that this is excellent as an iced latte!

This latte was so yummy - I actually didn't have coconut milk so I used almond milk like it mentioned. It was still pretty creamy. This is a great fall drink if youre looking for one.

I love maple, and adding it to my coffee was so delicious. I was hesitant to use coconut milk in this, I was worried it would drown out the maple flavor but honestly, it complemented it so well! I'll be drinking this all week!
