More often than not I see people stuck in a loop of wanting (and knowing) they should eat more protein but getting so sick of chicken and eggs that they quit and and binge on chocolate.

Recipes like protein mug cakes or baked protein donut recipes, or other single serving desserts like a single serve protein cookie, help curb that cycle because they give you all the indulgence but in a healthier way. Learn more about the benefits of a high protein diet and why you want to bump up.

As a coach and mom of three, these are the kinds of recipes I use for myself and my clients to maximize energy and fitness goals (here are some of the meal plans for busy moms I offer).

    Key Notes

Easy: All of the high protein mug cake recipes are easy to make with everyday gluten-free pantry staples for a healthy diet.

Healthy: All of the mug cakes have 10 grams of protein each and are also dairy-free and gluten-free.

Flavorful: The recipes below come in a variety of flavors to ensure that there’s something for everyone. Plus, mug cakes can be topped any which way to make them as indulgent or simplistic as you wish.

    Choosing A Protein Powder

The protein mug cake recipes use either a vegan protein powder or pure collagen powder.

You can learn more about how to choose a protein powder for your goals but know that many of them either use something like Botanica Protein or Orgain Protein powder because they blend the best. The kind you choose will affect both the flavor and the texture of the mug cake.

Collagen powder is my personal favorite to use as it’s such a clean source of protein and much healthier for your gut.
