These Easy Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas are a quick, flavor-packed dinner made with lean beef, fresh veggies, and homemade fajita seasoning. Everything cooks on one pan and comes together in under 20 minutes, making it a healthy weeknight meal with minimal cleanup.

“This dinner saved me so much time and my whole family ate it up!” - Lynn Polito

Sheet pan meals are one of my favorite ways to keep busy nights simple. With beef fajitas in the oven, everything cooks together on one pan, which means less prep and way less cleanup (one of the perks of recipes like these sheet pan protein pancakes too!). You still get all the bold fajita flavor without standing over the stove.

These sheet pan steak fajitas quickly become a weekly staple. As a mom of three, I love that they come together with homemade fajita seasoning and fresh veggies, just like my sheet pan Hawaiian chicken. Plus, everyone can customize their plate with their favorite toppings, which always makes dinner a little smoother in our house.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

Homemade seasonings: You can definitely use store-bought but homemade fajita seasoning just tastes better.

Meal prep: These fajitas are delicious, but they also work in other meals as a cook once, eat twice thing!

Quick dinner: The sheet pan meal comes together in just 20 minutes, making it amazing for whirlwind nights.

    Ingredients and Substitutions

White bowl with bell peppers, carrots and mushrooms, with a bowl of homemade fajita seasoning and another bowl of sliced steak all with text labels over the bowls.
    • Lean Beef: Though flank steak is normally used, I prefer to use top sirloin marinating steak. This makes it quick to cook without sacrificing any flavor.
    • Fajita mix: Though you can use a pre-made fajita mix, homemade will be much more flavorful and healthier (just like this Five Spice Powder Substitute)! 5 spices are all you need to make this fragrant fajita blend, and it’s totally worth it.
    • Avocado Oil: You only need a tiny bit of oil for the steak fajitas to get the job done. Olive oil is wonderful, but I like avocado best because it has such a high heat point.

If you love the fajita flavor, you'll also love this chicken taco skillet! Perfect for busy nights.

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities

    Flavor Variations

Protein: Of course, these healthy fajitas also work with sliced chicken if you want to switch it up, just like crockpot beef fajitas.

Spice: Add some cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the fajita seasoning for extra spice.

Veggies: Bell peppers and onions are a classic, but you could add other vegetables like finely chopped cauliflower, carrots, etc.

How To Make Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas

    1. Prep your meat and bell peppers/veggies by thinly slicing everything.
    2. Broil the steak for 6 minutes.
    3. While the steak of cooking, mix up the fajita seasoning.
    4. Toss the veggies in oil and ¾ of the seasoning.
    5. Place the veggies on the tray and sprinkle the rest of the seasoning over top of the steak mixture
    6. Bake for 8 minutes.
    7. Remove from the oven and assemble your sheet pan steak fajitas with all your favorite toppings and lime wedges on the side!

    Expert Tips

Broiling the beef makes it so that this weeknight dinner comes together much faster. Don’t skip this step!

It also makes it so that when everything is cooking, the veggies stay slightly crunchy and not overcooked.

If you like your veggies softer, turn the oven off and let them sit in the oven for 5 minutes after cooking.

Use any tortillas that fit into your diet. I personally use these gluten-free ones or homemade wraps. However, my kids go with traditional wheat wraps.

The best part about sheet pan steak fajitas is setting the table with all the fixings! In addition to the steak fajitas mixture, have any of the following on the table:

    • Chopped tomatoes
    • Avocado or guacamole
    • Kimchi
    • Salsa
    • Cashew sour cream
    • Fresh cilantro
    • Lime wedges
Baking tray with cooked steak, bell peppers, and veggies with a steel bowl of fresh tomatoes in the middle and flour tortillas folded to the side

Other Uses For Sheet Pan Fajitas

Though sheet pan beef fajitas for dinner is awesome, these steak fajitas are actually amazing for meal prep in general (just like this instant pot corned beef)! If you double the recipe, you can use the mix for:

    • Pasta just add it in with noodles
    • Stir fry (sautee with some rice)
    • On top of salads

There is so much more to this recipe than just one meal!

    Sheet Pan Steak Fajitas FAQs

Should you cut the steak before cooking sheet pan steak fajitas?

The steak will cook faster if it’s thinly sliced. This makes it so that the sheet pan fajitas are on the table in about 20 minutes.

What cut of steak is used for fajitas?

Traditionally, people make skirt steak or flank steak fajitas. However, you can also use top sirloin marinated steak. I prefer to use this over flank steak so that the steak fajitas come out a bit more juicy and tender. Flank steak tends to be a bit grittier.

How do you make beef strips less chewy?

Make sure to thinly cut the steak before cooking. Beef gets chewy when it’s overcooked. Cutting it thinly makes it so that the cooking time is less, and the beef stays tender.

How do you store leftover fajitas?

To store leftover steak fajitas, let them cool fully before storing them in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the microwave or on the stove over low heat.
