How To Get Fit As A Busy Mom
As a busy mom of two littles who runs two businesses from home, I totally understand that fitness is an uphill battle.
Fitness for moms comes with restrictions like time, kiddos, knowledge, and energy.
You’re in the perfect place. It is my hope that this section helps you work through some of those obstacles, tackle your goals, and get fit – whatever that looks like for you.

4 Things You’re Doing Wrong To Get Fit
Even the best of intentions sometimes get misplaced. And nothing is more frustrating than working your butt off… and not actually working your butt off!
In my experience below are some very common mistakes when busy moms are tying to get fit.
You’re not sleeping
Catch twenty-two when it comes to fitness for moms: no moms are sleeping. And asking anyone with a babe under two how they’re sleeping is just silly: we aren’t.
Unfortunately, sleep is a huge necessity when it comes to recovery, and your body prioritizing anything fitness related.
And since this is a continuous battle my advice is simple: prioritize sleep when you can. On better-rested days try to train harder. On less-rested days focus on movement, mobility, or short workouts (like simple five minute bursts)
You’re Stressed And Have No Acute Management
Stress plays a huge role in how our body functions and recovers. Long term stress affects all health goals.
My two cents: figure out a way to manage stress long term as well as in the moment. You will definitely not avoid stress but learning how to manage it is crucial.
You’re Not Pushing Yourself
Much of the time when I see clients initially they full-on admit that they don’t push themselves through their workouts. They take the easy way, cut the extra rep, or just go through the motions.
If you’re going through the effort to get fit, push yourself. Every time you can.
I’ll say it every single day if this point would sink in! Two days of good workouts doesn’t make you fit just as one missed workout won’t undo your work.
Put in the effort multiple times per week, week after week. Consistency is key.
Fitness For Moms
When it comes to a mom trying to get fit, there are a few crucial areas to focus on:
- The back muscles
These are the muscles that will help counter poor posture and back pain. And then these muscles are strong they help moms carry kids much easier.
Fitness for moms should include multiple sets, reps, and exercises to target those three areas in multiple ways.
Focus on getting strong first. The other stuff tends to fall in line then 😉
Working Out At Home
At-home workouts are the overlook area when it comes to fitness tips but the most practical way for moms to get fit.
In this section, I cover a lot of ins and outs and fitness tips for working out at home because it’s something I truly believe in. I also offer over one hundred of full-body workouts to help you get fit and rock the journey.
Working out at home helps:
- Moms stay consistent
- Save time
- Save money
- Make life a little easier
And the best part is that working out at home doesn’t require a lot of at-home workout equipment. You have so many options in addition to bodyweight training.
If you need a place to start, I recommend a yellow strength band for working out at home because it allows you to hit your postural muscles with some resistance and takes up little room.
I’ll do my best to walk you through what you may want and how to use it for your goals.
My biggest focus for this section is to provide you with all the tools you need to get fit.
