Take a bottle of kombucha and transform it into a whole new, refreshing beverage! This kombucha mocktail is an easy way to skip the alcohol while still enjoying something bright, uplifting, and delicious. Made with only a few ingredients it whips up in a pinch for any gathering.

What Is Kombucha
If you haven’t heard of kombucha before, it’s a beverage made from fermented tea. The tea is added to a scoby mother along with sugar and left to sit. In doing so, a fizzy, gut-healthy beverage is made.
From there, you can do a second ferment and add any flavors you want to the brew.
On its own, kombucha is delicious and comes in a ton of flavors at the store all of them loaded with probiotics. However, sometimes it’s nice to create your own flavor and turn the kombucha into a tasty mocktail too!
As a Certified Nutrition Coach, I actually spent eight years brewing my own kombucha before giving it up when I had kids. However, I love the taste and health benefits of it and continue to use it in place of alcohol. Leanr more about cocktails vs mocktails.

Expert Tips To Make It
Make sure to use a fresh bottle of kombucha so that you get maximum fizz. Like most soft drinks, once opened it loses its carbonation. Any kombucha you grab will work though you’ll get more of the moctkail flavor from grabbing an unflavored kombucha from the store. If not plain, opt for a ginger kombucha. Bonus points if you support someone local who makes it!
Adjust the juice and fruit ratios as per your own preference.
How To Make It
Step 1: Pour the juice and kombucha into a glass.
Step 2: Add some ice cubes and squeeze the lime juice into the glass and swirl with a mixing straw.
Step 3: Garnish the kombucha mocktail with fresh orange slices and mint. Serve.
Variations
As mentioned, you can adjust the kombucha mocktail to vary its flavor a bit. Below are a couple of options to add a tasty tiwst to the recipe.
Juice: use fresh pomegranate juice or freshly squeezed orange juice in place of blood orange. Remember, kombucha is naturally gut healing so don’t cancel that out by using juices high in processed sugars. Though grapefruit juice and cranberry juice are great, they tend to be loaded with excess ingredients.
Giner: wonderful for digestion and tasty in a mocktail (check out this gingerbeer mocktail) adding in some sliced or shaved fresh ginger is delicious.
Garnishes: mint and orange slices are great however so are extra limes and pomegranate airls.
