Bacon Wrapped Steak Bites

The perfect appetizer or meal prep recipe. These bacon-wrapped steak bites are cooked until tender and juicy and wrapped in crispy bacon. The perfect size to pop into your mouth.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Bacon
  • 2 tablespoon Balsamic vinegar or 3 tbs balsamic reduction
  • 0.6 kg Boneless cross-rib steak

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425F
  • Cut the bacon into thirds using scissors.
  • Chop the steak into bite-sized pieces (beef cubes).
  • Tightly wrap each piece of bacon around a piece of steak and secure it with a toothpick.

  • Place them all on a parchment paper-lined baking tray.
  • Drizzle the balsamic reduction over them.

  • Bake for 12 -14 minutes.
  • Turn the oven off and let them sit for 8-10 minutes for the bacon to crisp up.
  • Remove from the oven and pat the steak bites dry with paper towel to remove the grease.

Notes

You may need to cook the bites longer if your bacon is thick. It's a lot easier if you use thin bacon.
Don’t overlook letting the bacon wrapped steak bites sit in the oven after it's off. I find that the longer they sit, the crispier they are. However, you don't want them to sit too much that the steak gets tough.
You don’t totally need the balsamic reduction, salt and pepper will do. However, I love the flavor it brings out in the steak.
Make sure to cover the baking tray fully with parchment paper so that grease doesn’t leak out from the bacon.
Hack: for ultra-crispy bacon I have definitely pre-cooked the bacon for 5-10 minutes, let it cool, and then wrapped each steak bite. It's an extra step but the bacon ends up so much crispier.
