Dairy-Free Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas

With a creamy almond butter filling these frozen chocolate-covered bananas make the perfect summertime treat! Made with only five ingredients these frozen bananas are an easy way to use up those ripe bananas!

A fun summer treat that's always a hit with kids. Though chocolate-dipped frozen bananas on a stick (and things like protein popsicles) are a fun way to indulge too, these banana bites are a nice twist.

Ingredients You’ll Need

You'll need a few of these and though you want them to be ripe for sweetness you don't want them to be complete mush.

Ripe bananas

Almond butter

Make sure to use natural almond butter and make sure it's fresh so that it's not too hard to smear onto the bananas.

Vanilla extract

To add a bit of flavor to the frozen chocolate-covered bananas.

Coconut oil

Don't skip this as you need to to help melt the chocolate.

Mini chocolate chips

I use enjoy life chocolate chips as they're dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and vegan.

1. Slice your bananas and place half of them on a baking sheet or board lined with parchment paper. 2. In a small bowl, whisk together the vanilla and almond butter. 3. Portion out the almond butter mixture onto the bananas and top each one with another banana to make a “sandwich”.

How To Make Chocolate Covered Frozen Bananas

4. Place in the freezer for a moment. 5. In a small pot, heat the coconut oil and chocolate chips at low temperatures. Once mostly melted, remove from heat and stir to combine. 6. Carefully, dip the banana sandwiches one at a time into the melted chocolate and place them back on the parchment paper. 7. Freeze for thirty minutes or until you’re ready to enjoy!
