5-Minute Monday – What Are You Grateful For
Welcome to 5-Minute Monday’s where I keep it low key, check in with the world, and give you something to think on for the week. I’d LOVE to know what you think of this new segment!
In times of chaos and uncertainty, there’s a lot of fear. There’s far too much negativity. And there’s a little less light. We’re currently housebound. We wear masks to leave. We can’t touch anything and our kids can’t socialize. However, I believe in finding the positive, the silver lining.
So I’m here to tell you that it’s okay. It’s okay to be frustrated, cagey, annoyed, and scared. To feel let down. But I think you can feel more than that. I think there’s one thing you can do to let some light in. To remember this time in a different way.

It took me a long time to become an optimistic person (an insanely long time!). About ten years ago if you asked me if the glass was half empty or half full I wouldn’t have even answered, probably just thrown the glass (HA!). But the truth is, I now believe that there is a silver lining in almost all situations.
While COVID-19 has definitely taken a toll on everyone (and I’m not discounting that) to be honest, it’s given me a lot of opportunities. I’m grateful for:
-
- extra time with my kids (even though yes, it is chaotic!)
- the extra time to really do what I love- grow a blog!
- not having to rush around to meet schedules
- the simplicity
Time has always been my biggest obstacle and with this pandemic I was given extra on a silver platter. So, I’ve made sure not to waste it. It’s insane having the kiddos home 24/7 but we’re making it work and I’m truly thankful for the extra time.
Which brings me to you. What’s your silver lining? What is one shard of brightness you can find in this pandemic? Drop me a comment below and let me know! Then. hold on to it, tightly. Because that brightness will be what pulls you through the chaos.
