Vegan Chocolate Peanut Butter Nice Cream
Chocolate and nut butter- is there anything better? I’ve written before about my obsession with everything elated to chocolate and nut butter (chocolate almond butter cups anyone?) but I can’t quite express how much I love it! But back to the point: is there anything better? YES- AN ICE CREAM VERSION! Almost everything is more amazing in ice cream form and this healthy banana nice cream is no exception.
I love banana “nice cream” for so many reasons. Not only is it easy to make but thanks to the banana base you don’t need to add anything overly sweet to it to make it taste good! But back to the “easy to make”…
Way back when I was given an ice cream maker- score! I thought it would be the best thing ever. Only it wasn’t. Ice cream makers work great when you use traditional ingredients (cream, sugar, flavorings etc) but they’re less awesome when you use real food ingredients.
To be honest, it was just as simple to combine everything into my Vitamix as it was to use the ice cream machine (which has to sit constantly chilled in your freezer).
And so my obsession was born.
This chocolate peanut butter banana nice cream has everything you could possibly want in a soft serve ice cream! It’s super simple to make (six ingredients), vegan, contains not processed sugars and best of all, perfectly blends the flavors of chocolate and banana!
Seriously, I love it,
I prefer this ice cream eaten right away though you can freeze it. Fair warning though it gets pretty hard and then you have to let it sit out about 8-10 minutes before you eat it.
Whip up a batch, top with your favorite ice cream crunchy items (raw cacao, walnuts etc) and enjoy a huge bowl. Because this nice cream is not only addictively tasty but it’s healthy too!
Ingredients In The Banana Nice Cream:
- 5 frozen bananas, chopped (about 3 cups)
- 3 ice cubes
- 1/4 cup cacao powder
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter + 1 tablespoon for mixing
- 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons almond milk
Note: all of these health boosting ingredients can be purchased through my favorite retailer Well.ca– and the best part is that they offer free shipping!

How To Make The Banana Nice Cream
Get everything ready and chop the frozen bananas into chunks to make it easier on your blender.
Place the bananas into the blender or food processor followed by the remaining ingredients (reserving one tablespoon of peanut butter)
Blend until combined. If using a blender you will need to use a tamper to blend the mixture as it will be thick. If using a food processor you may need to stop and scrape down the sides.
Blend until thick and combined. Use a spatula to place mixture into a large bowl. Stir in the remaining peanut butter for a swirl look.
Divide into two bowls and enjoy!
Makes 2 cups
Note: Best eaten as soft serve right away
