5-MINUTE MONDAY’S – Stop Lying To Yourself

It’s harsh reality time over here! If you have goals, be they fitness, health, or personal, you need to stop lying to yourself. Be HONEST with where you’re at and then take the next step forward.

The only way we can progress is to know how to move forward and we can’t do that if we won’t admit to ourselves where we’re really starting from.

As a coach for the past decade, I’ve heard every excuse imaginable. And truthfully, I’ve made a lot myself. As humans, we have a way of re-working the truth sometimes, especially when it comes to our goals. “I eat healthily” but can’t seem to see results is a common one. And yet when it comes time to track calories, intake, or just food we realize that while we eat some healthy meals, we also snack on chips five times per week.

Lying, or misrepresenting the truth is easy. Unfortunately, I’m here to give you a bit of a reality check and kick in the butt. In order to move forward, you need to stop lying to yourself.

You need to take note of where you are actually, versus where you think you are. And then you need to move forward.

You are worth so much more than excuses to yourself. You are already a freaking rockstar, so stop taking away from your awesomeness by lying to yourself.

Forward momentum is hard. It requires some self-reflection. I get that. But if you’re honest with yourself then the next mini-accomplishments feel awesome.

Take note of where you are. Where you want to be. And how to get there. Then, go smash it.
