Showing Up For Your Goals
Everyone looks for a “quick fix” when it comes to their goals. Be they health, weight, performance, or personal. I’m here to remind you that there is no quick fix. There’s only hard work and consistency.
Instead of spending your time looking for simple solutions, put time into noting where you’re at and how to move forward long-term. It’s not what you want to hear, but it’s the best way towards your goals.
In my years as a certified strength coach, I’ve had a lot of people question how I do it. How I achieve fitness goals, look a certain way, manage the chaos, and generally appear as if I’m smashing it.
Fun fact: I don’t actually have my sh* together.
The reason I appear that I have it all together is that I show up. Day in and day out. Month after month and year after year.
Showing up is half the battle and often the battle that’s missing when it comes to your goals.
There are no quick fixes for serious goals and I doubt you’d be proud of yourself if you didn’t work for something. So, instead of taking the fast lane, take note of where you are, and make a game plan from there.
And then show up.
Show up on the bad days, the lazy days, and the in-between days. Forward momentum is hard but if you can show up, a lot of work is done.
This is exactly what I remind myself of when I feel like I’m failing (and yes, we all have these moments!). I focus on showing up and trying. Some days that’s the best I can do- and I’m okay with that.
My goal for you this week is to show up. Show up for what’s important to you. Know that you and your goals are worth your time. And when all else fails, remember that showing up is half the battle.
