Healthy Cookie Roundup
With Christmas getting close, baking lists are getting made! And what kind of Christmas would you have really if it didn’t involve some Holiday cookies! I’ve always been a sucker for cookies (these cashew cookies being my current favorite) but I do tend to eat more than my fair share at Christmastime 😀
A I’ve mentioned in previous blogs, I am a cookie fiend! Really! It’s rare that a day goes by that I don’t have at least one cookie. They’re are simply one of my guilty pleasures.
That said, not all cookies are created equal. In fact, after having eaten my fair share of cookies (understatement) I can honestly say that nothing compares to real, whole food based cookies.
Way back when, long before my lovely health journey, my go-to cookie was a simple, store bought chocolate chip version. Normally the President’s Choice ones. I could easily mow down an entire box of them in one sitting.
Now-a-days, the thought makes me a little queasy because truthfully they just don’t have great ingredients. To be honest, they serve no purpose to me anymore.
While I love cookies, I also love giving my body real, whole and minimally processed foods. Even if I’m eating cookies I’d still prefer those cookies to be nutritious, provide me with some sort of benefit and of course taste good!
With store bought cookies, everything is just make belief. There’s flours that have been stripped, oils that have been altered and sugar in excess.
So it was a pretty natural transition to begin making my own cookies!
Below are six of my favorite, go-to cookies. Not only are they addictively tasty but they’re also healthy!

Thus, all of these cookies taste delicious but also make pretty good snacks when you need a sweet fix.
Tip: make big batches and store the cookies in the freezer!! This way, you always have some on hand when you’re in a pinch 😉 (yes, I take cookies THAT seriously 😉

So there you are, my favorite healthy cookies! While the Holiday’s are a time of indulgence, for me it’s still important to reduce processed foods, sugars and really make the most of what I’m eating. I always aim to fuel my body and these cookies, while indulgent, do just that!
