Hello Mama!
Are you just starting your natural living journey and need some inspiration? Getting frustrated with the overload of recipes and ingredients out there?
Or maybe you’re currently buying wicked natural brands but getting a little annoyed at the cost for just one jar of lotion.
I’ve been where you are. Wanting desperately to reduce chemicals in my beauty routine but struggling with the how-to.
Not knowing where in the world to start when it comes to the hundreds of homemade recipes out there and equipment you’ll need.
Guess What? We’ve all be there.
When I first started my DIY skin care routine I was so confused about where to buy the ingredients and if this was really for me. Getting started was the hardest part.
However, after I made the first few body butters and realized how easy it was (pretty much measure + melt + pour) I was hooked.
No chemicals, no hidden ingredients, and no fanciness. Just all-natural, good for you skin care.
This is what threw me off when I first started making homemade beauty products, there are SO MANY items I need to buy!
Fact: you really only need about 10 ingredients to make hundreds of products.
There will always be more you can use or swap but really there are about ten staples you’ll use over and over again.
Fun Hack: if you’re new to DIY recipes, don’t run out and buy all the oils (almond, apricot, jojoba) they’re actually interchangeable. Yes, each one has unique benefits but you’ll get the same recipe and wonderfully hydrated skin with any of them. Save some money upfront 😉
The last thing you want to do is to shell out money for fancy equipment when just starting to make your own DIY products. So don’t.
While many recipes call for a “double-boiler”, all you really need is a heat-proof jar and a small pot with an inch of water. That’s it.
Depending on the DIY skin care recipe you will need some things though:
Most of these items are pretty inexpensive and are dependent on which DIY recipe you’re making.
There are probably a million beauty recipes out there you could be trying. But so many of them are complex or overwhelming because they’re geared towards being great gifts.
They contain ingredients you need to track down or that you’ve never heard of. They have fancy prints and herbs to make them beautiful.
Busy moms need simple things. And if there’s one thing I excel at, it’s making something as simple as possible.
No fanciness, no additives just simple, quality skincare recipes for everyday moms.
I remember that feeling of just getting started, of seeing ingredients like “marshmallow root” and questioning what I was getting into.
As a busy mom of two, my time is limited. This means I need simple, practical, effective recipes … and so do you.
