When it comes to a healthy lifestyle there are so many ways to approach your system. However, in my years as a coach and from my own personal journey, I’ve learned that keeping it simple is the best avenue.
When I first started my health journey I lived off fast food, was a pessimist, had low energy, and eventually struggled with fertility.
Implementing these healthy tips and making simple changes each and every day is what made the biggest difference.
A healthy lifestyle is about more than just cutting some sweetener, it’s about a holistic approach. You need to consider:
One aspect without others is simply incomplete. A healthy lifestyle isn’t a diet, fad, or trend but what you believe.
10 Tips for Healthy Living
Drink your water – we all know we need it, but rarely do we place as much focus on it as we should. Guzzle up every day.
Move your body – scheduled workouts are great and important. However, what you do outside of your workouts matters too. Learn how to be more active throughout your day.
Focus on nutrients and colors – I am a firm believer that you should enjoy your food, but it also needs to fuel you. Focus on getting in nutrients not calories and make sure you eat for color/
Learn to manage stress acutely – healthy living means learning exactly what to do in the moment of a stressful situation. Breathing, a wicked song, a quick walk. Get your body out of panic mode. These yoga poses are great stress relievers.
Do things you love – we need to work for happiness and part of that is making things we enjoy a priority. Do things you love on a regular basis and truly appreciate them.
Learn to manage stress long term – part of a healthy lifestyle is having a stress outlet but also learning how to reduce your stress load.
Scale back the sugar – focus on real, whole foods as much as possible and do your best to cut back processed foods and sugar.
Get outside- find a forest or a trail and go for a walk. Remember what it was like being a kid and outside for hours. Getting outside in itself is great stress relief.
Smile, laugh, play- don’t lose the ability to be silly as you age! Play with your kids. Laugh a lot. Smiles are contagious and they’re often one of the healthy tips missing in a list. Smiling helps keep the mind positive.
Be intimate – we were made to connect with each other. Embrace intimacy.
Focus on simple and natural – reduce chemicals and exposure where you can and when possible always opt for simple.
Living a healthy lifestyle isn’t complicated but it does take some effort. We need to make ourselves a priority and remember that healthy tips shouldn’t be just about food.
